The iron beds were first designed and created in the middle of the nineteenth century. They manufactured this style of beds until the First World War and were handcrafted and polished with precise casting and applied finishes. It would take many days to even finish a single bed, were people worked in small factories with only a few workers. After the First World War the making of Iron beds went in to mass production, as a result of this hand crafted beds were being stolen from the factories therefore Iron beds were lost to a more effective solution. This lead to may closures of the factories and the making of Iron beds came to an end. Iron beds are now produced using cold-roll and steel tubing, which gives strength and stability. Today they can be made is classic and modern styles with an array of finishes.
